Advocates for All Inmates Rights (A.F.A.I.R.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the rights, dignity, and well-being of incarcerated individuals. We provide advocacy, support, education, and resources to inmates and their families to help address injustices within the correctional system and promote successful rehabilitation and reintegration.
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure that every incarcerated individual has access to fair treatment, advocacy, the legal system, and opportunities for rehabilitation while supporting families impacted by incarceration and working toward accountability and reform within correctional institutions and after individuals are released from custody.
The Vision
We envision a justice system where human rights are respected, direct access to the courts/legal system is given, due process is afforded to all persons-in-custody, rehabilitation is prioritized, and every individual has a meaningful opportunity to rebuild their life and reconnect with their family and community.

In 2025, just under one million women in the United States were in jails, prisons, probation or parole, according to the Sentencing Project. While women still represent a minority of the incarcerated population, their involvement in the system has expanded at a pace that's outstripped men.
